I am 51 years old. I am a caring, responsible person. I qualified as a nursery nurse in 1989. Since qualifying I have raised my two daughters with my husband. My children have grown up and are independent and self sufficient. I have developed my career by working in nurseries and having roles such as family wellbeing and family support. I am PPP trained and gained accreditation as a sleep counsellor. I am a very patient person and enjoy being in the company of children, helping to guide and develop their little characters. In my role as a nanny I would find it an honour and pleasure to work with your family. I have many interests for example reading, walking, volunteer work and would like to pursue others, At present I am employed as a family wellbeing worker. With the threat of redundancy due to lack of funding I would like to work as a nanny, giving me a flexible approach to working whilst still being able to use my skills learned through working within a children and family setting for many years. During the time my children were growing up I decided to develop my skills and Volunteered for a company called "Homestart" which offered support to families. This provided flexibility to be available for my family. I returned to education to access a pre nursing course at Stow college, of which, I completed one year before commencing employment with East Dunbartonshire Council In the year 2000. I was employed as a family support worker, working with parents and children to offer support. I was employed in this position for 10 years. I gained experience working with families within their home to support and help with family issues, for example, support with behaviour issues, childcare support and daily running of the home. I am Triple P trained and a qualified sleep counsellor. I have many years of experience working with children. At present I am employed to work in partnership within a Glasgow city council nursery to provide support to parents and children who require a helping hand to cope with family life. . I am a caring, patient and kind person who enjoys working with children. I would like to return to childcare within the home. I am able to prepare meals and i am also able to clean. If the child is still in the stage of diapers, i am able to change them. If they are autistic or disabled however, additional training will be required on my part. If the children would like to go outdoors, if the location is of walking distance, i am able to take them. Apart from not being able to drive, the only thing that would hinder me from providing care for your child/ children is transport and your location.
