I am a 20-year-old student at Manchester Metropolitan University. I am working part-time as a SEN teaching assistant in a primary school in Manchester and looking to work around this, including throughout school holidays, to support parents/carers and families with childcare needs. When I can, I enjoy exercising (running, walking, pilates). I have always been a music lover, specifically in musical theatre. I used to play piano for fun and perform on stages for various roles. I have a strong work ethic and am a loyal, self-motivated person who has a passion for helping others. Additional courses and achievements include: Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene for catering, Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Duke of Edinburgh – Bronze Award, Level 1 Emergency First Aid, Level 1 First Aid for Mental Health, Prevent Awareness Training, Level 2 Team Teach – Positive Behaviour Training, Mental Health Champions Foundation- Teachers and School staff, Place2Be, Elklan Communication Counts Course and Associated Tasks, Level 1 Hands to Communicate. I have completed an enhanced DBS check. I am able to provide references and am happy to arrange a phone call or face-to-face meeting if you would like to ask any further questions. Please contact me if you wish to see my CV.
Starting as a volunteer and progressing to trained staff, I have worked in education for over years. My experience is mostly with children aged 2-11, however I am comfortable working with any age. I am currently working as a teaching assistant in a primary school, working with SEN & SEMH children. Therefore, I am confident and competent working with children with any additional needs, including communication or physical needs.
I have currently achieved GCSE and A-level certifications. I am now studying a psychology degree which will result in a BSc degree by graduation. I completed several additional training courses, specifically around mental health, speech and language, bsl, and other courses relevant to my job and study.
