Grace D.
At the moment, I am employed in a junior football league known as Diddikicks. In this role, my primary responsibility involves coaching young children, specifically those aged between 18 months and 5 years old. Over the course of my tenure, I've discovered that this job allows me to merge my love for football with my conviction for aiding in the growth and maturation of young minds. In the capacity of a coach, I don't limit myself to merely facilitating the sporting prowess of these young individuals. Rather, I work diligently towards identifying particular areas of skill and talent in each child, and I take it upon myself to educate and train these children accordingly to further hone that skill set. In addition, we at Diddikicks operate under a specific philosophy that goes beyond just making our toddlers apt at sports. We are committed to promoting and nurturing cognitive development in our young charges, for we believe that the mind and body connection is of paramount importance in childhood development. Furthermore, we place a core emphasis on inculcating behavioural skills in our young players; fostering traits of team spirit, cooperation, discipline and respect is an integral part of our curriculum. Over and above my professional experience, I have always been surrounded by a younger crowd at home, being the oldest in a considerably large family. Growing up, the onus of taking care of the younger siblings often fell upon my shoulders. Consequently, while my employment at Diddikicks accounts for a part of my experience in dealing with children, my upbringing significantly contributes to my knowledge, understanding, and aptitude to cater to the younger demographic. In summary, my years of experience handling the whims and caprices of the youngsters in my family, combined with my professional participation in their developmental progress through sport, have equipped me with a unique set of skills that extend beyond my vocation as a coach.
I currently work as a Toddler Coach in a Junior Football League (Diddikicks) in South Shields where I look after groups of 5-15 children aged 18 months to 5 years old. However I do have experience with older children as I consistently care for my niece and nephew aged 7 and 11.
