Barbara P.
As a mother of three lively children, all of whom are between three and eleven years old, I am blessed with a great volume of firsthand experience in childcare. This is further complimented by my extensive work with children and young adults in varying roles and contexts over the years. My interaction with these diverse ages groups has enabled me to garner copious amounts of expertise in the area. A significant proportion of my experience lies in working one-on-one with children and young adults, particularly those in the eight to eighteen plus age group. I have specialized in dealing with those who have learning difficulties and neurodiversities, developing a deep understanding of their particular needs and the methods of communication that suit them best. Early on, during my time at university in my 20s, I served as a babysitter and nanny. This was an enriching period that, coupled with my personal parenting experience, laid a solid foundation for the compassionate, patient and gentle caregiver that I am today. Being a creative individual, one of my greatest joys is to engage my own children and others with arts and crafts activities. I find a lot of fulfillment in venturing out for nature walks which often double as impromptu science lessons, and also engaging them in pretend play which fuels their creativity and imagination. My nature is one of kindness and caring - qualities which naturally lend themselves to my role as a caregiver. Seeing the children's joyous laughter, knowing that I have contributed to their happiness, provides an unmatched feeling of satisfaction. Trustworthiness and reliability are critical attributes in my line of work and I prioritize these. Above all, however, my focus is invariably on ensuring the children under my care are thriving - kept both happy and safe. Watchfulness and vigilance are second nature to me, providing the parents peace of mind that their precious ones are in competent and reliable hands.
I have worked as a babysitter/nanny in my early twenties for a few years, and also with children and young people with learning difficulties and neurodiversities in a residential setting for over 8 years. I have three children of my own, ages 3-11.
