Maisie C.
I'm Maisie, a confident and dedicated chef with over 17 years of professional kitchen experience. My career highlight to date is establishing my own social enterprise food business in East London. There, I balance my time between on-site projects and private catering jobs, which allows me to showcase my culinary skills across a wide spectrum of cuisines. My kitchen isn't just a place of work, it's an extension of my home and my passion. Just minutes away from my residence in Hackney Wick, I grow my own herbs and flowers for garnish in a small garden beside my flat. To me, cooking is a sustainable cycle – growing, preparing, and composting – and I take pride in incorporating this philosophy in my culinary creations. Having grown up in a large family, I have a natural affinity towards cooking for both big gatherings and smaller intimate meals. I’m love being around children and cherish the opportunity to introduce them to the world of cooking. Additionally, I can create nutrient-balanced meals and record macros for any client who might be health-conscious or following a specific diet plan. When I am not cooking, I enjoy gardening, cycling, and drawing. I'm currently building a coop in my garden to house a group of chickens I'm adopting this summer.
I have been a chef for 17 years in a variety of kitchens, I now run my own food business in east London and cook for private households in my free time. My cooking is produce led, sourcing directly from smaller farmers who are growing organically and regeneratively to make sure that the ingredients I'm using are nutrient dense and doing good for the land they came from. Vegetables always take centre stage in my cooking, although I'm confident cooking meat & fish they are supporting roles on the plate. I use seasonal produce to create colourful and joyful plates that are nourishing, balanced and sustaining.
