I'm 53 years old married woman. Originally from Croatia, but from the age of 20 London has been my home. My husband David is a local from Camden, we been married for over 30 years. We don't have kids (it was mutual decision not to have children). I have a degree in Graphic design, most of my career I was freelanceing.
Re. animal experience, for over 15 years we had a cat called Peanut who one day came through the kitchen window and never left. In 2016 we've decided to change our lives and get out of London. We took Peanut with us and move to Spain. We had this Spanish friend who asked us to look after his 2 Rottweiler puppies just until he find a house for himself. The rest you can imagine, when we came to our rented house there they were. Two cutest and very well behaved 5 months old puppies, they didn't even have the names. O yeah in the garden were also two hairless cats. So it was funny and very challenging times. New country and everything that goes with it, all those animals, and our Peanut was very old. She passed away 7 months later, that was one of the biggest losses of my life. Those two Rotties were still with us, so we gave them a names Solid and Roxy. We also realised that our Spanish friend never going to settle down so S and R never going to have a home, unless we provide. So that is what we did. Before we even had them I was hooked on Cesar Milan series I loved his method and approach so initially that helped me to raise my two babies. I also brought over to Spain my friend from Croatia who is dog trainer and owner of the best hotel for dogs in my hometown in Croatia, so she helped me a lot with them. The only problem that I needed help for, were walks. And that problem was solved in literally few walks. So for the past 8 years our lives were all about dogs. I was told that I have two beasts and that I have to be better than good. I took that very seriously and I ended up with two the greatest dogs. We travelled with them every summer to visit my father in Croatia, that journey is over 2000 miles through that experience we learned even more about the dogs in general. The reason why I told you the story of my dogs it's for you to get the picture of my experience, even though I never been paid to walk the dogs, but my knowledge and experience comes from raising two dogs and having a great results of my effort. For example when I walk the dogs I never answer the phone unless it's emergency, I never walk with anybody. That is a time for them, I'm always one step ahead of them, always make sure that they can trust my guidance, such approach gives great time to them and also me because it's calm and relaxing time for everyone. Raising Solid and Roxy (by law they are considered "dangerous" breed) made me a better person, thought me so much about the animals in general than dogs and people as well. They helped us through Corona time, they made us better people and couple. After Spain we moved to Croatia were we lived for just over 2 years. I volunteered at my friend's hotel for dogs, there I've learned even more about different breeds and their needs, different levels of energy and their mental states, pack mentality, meeting and gritting in dog world. Look for signs of trouble (change in behaviour) and stop it before it goes too far.
Unfortunately year ago my darling Roxy passed away, she was stricken by very aggressive tumor so we lost her, that loss hit me so hard the only comfort that helped me was my boy Solid, again learned from him so much. That we must carry on and feel lucky that we were loved by her, looked after by her (she was so clever and wise) and had a chance to know amazing dog like Roxy.
At the end we've decided to move back to London, so just over month ago we all came back.
We live in ground floor flat, we have two very secure and separate patio gardens so if there's ever need for your pet to stay with us you can relax in knowing that he will have a comfort and ability to get a fresh air while with us. Also we have a great walks in different parks and kanal walks. Our Solid enjoying his new home so much, and even more the walks. He is great with any dog and our local cats, in fact he is not bothered by anyone or anything. He's now over 8 so he's old boy who love his food and enjoys cuddles from people, I can guarantee that he will never be a problem to any dog that is trusted in our care. Also I will have a full support from my husband so it will be two people working in giving your loved ones the best care possible.
We looking forward to meet you and your doggie 🐾💕
I never been paid for my dog walking before, most of my experience comes from having the dogs my self and volunteered at the dog hotel in Croatia. That was a place where I learned everything about dogs and how to care for them and keep them happy. Just over 8 years ago I saved 2 Rottweiler puppies they were 5 months at the time, they were my very first dogs, before that I had cat for over 15 years. But having these two dogs completely changed my life on so many different levels. Having them, studying them and their development and interactions between them two has gave me great insight of their world both mental and physical. I grew as a person learning through their relationship. Having such a powerful and intelligent breed you had to learn fast, and as a reward I had two amazing dogs. We travelled with them all around Europe and that experience teach us a lot.
