Shona H.
I’m a compassionate, dedicated nurse with over 7 years of experience in district nursing. I now work privately, offering personalised care in people’s own homes. I have a particular passion for palliative and dementia care, and I bring not only my clinical expertise but a deep commitment to ensuring each individual feels truly heard, respected, and supported. I recently received a national nursing award in recognition of my commitment to patients and their families-a proud moment that reflects the heart I bring to my work. My approach is person-centred and holistic. I take time to listen, understand, and connect with every person I care for, no matter their background, beliefs, or health challenges. I believe everyone has a story worth sharing, and it’s a privilege to walk alongside people through both calm and challenging times. I'm skilled in risk assessment, triage, critical thinking, and advanced care planning, and I work seamlessly with wider healthcare teams to ensure the best outcomes for those I support. Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of two wonderful children and happily married. I love being outdoors in nature, exploring historic buildings, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading about history, psychology, and world affairs-curiosity and learning are lifelong passions of mine. Above all, I believe in dignity, autonomy, and compassion. I strive to help each person live with as much independence and comfort as possible, and to ensure they and their families feel valued and empowered in their care journey. If you're looking for a warm, skilled, and reliable nurse to support you or your loved one at home, I’d love to connect.
I am an advanced clinical practitioner with a masters level qualification in advanced assessment and diagnosis and have a V300 prescribing qualification. I am currently working as a senior district nurse with a special interest in palliative care, managing long term conditions and dementia care. I trained to be a nurse at Papworth hospital specialising in cardiology and repiritory illness
Advanced clinical assessment and V300 non medical prescribing level 7.
