Joseph C.
I am a married father of three living in Edgware. I went to school in Central London and have lived in several cities across the U.K including Manchester, Bristol and Brighton. I have had a lifelong passion for History and Literature, and my favourite place to be is lost somewhere in the English countryside. I am an avid follower of multiple sports including cricket, football, basketball and baseball and enjoy spouting random trivia facts and figures! I am patient, analytical and easy going, and I deeply care about helping my students attain excellence in their studies. I specialise in helping students identify the areas where they are strongest and providing building blocks to help them reach the next level.
I have taught English and History at local secondary schools for 3 years, from years 7-11 inclusive (2023-2026). I have 650 hours tutoring experience (2015-2022), primarily History and English A level. I am an AQA GCSE examiner for English Language and marked over 400 scripts last summer, and will be marking English Literature this summer.
I have a PGDE (2025) and QTS (2024). I received my PhD from UCL in 2019. I was awarded a distinction in my MA at UCL in 2015. I was awarded a 1st class honors degree from Mancester University in History in 2014.
