I began my childcare career since leaving school to work for Bradford Council. I worked for the first 10 years as a Playgroup Worker, and during this time, gained the relevant qualifications to become a qualified Nursery Nurse, before becoming re-deployed due to end of funding. Still as a Bradford Council employer, I was sent on a number of placements, the first being to work in a Family Centre as a Trainee Community Resource Worker. I then went on placement to a Sure start Children's Centre, before applying for a post for a Bilingual Outreach Worker. For my hobbies and Interests I enjoy looking after children, cooking, cleaning and gardening, and also some outdoor activities like walking and playing with the children in the garden. I used to enjoy outdoor/indoor sports like badminton, netball, rounders etc. I also like to do D. I. Y. I love to paint and draw too. I used to draw Muriel’s and pictures representing children’s favourite characters from nursery rhymes and different types of animals etc. Other information. I am a married mother to three children of 18, 14 and a 6 year old. I had a career break for the first time in 20 years back in May 2009. The reason being was that I had moved down to London to join my husband’s side of the family and wanted to start a new life. I did plan to look for another job career but then went on to have another baby. He was born in May 2010, and I decided to be a stay at home mum, until I felt ready to go back to work. We moved back down to Bradford due to some change of circumstances, and felt ready to look for some part-time work to keep me busy once again. My first role back into working was February 2014 as a driver to escorting two young girls to school and back. I also volunteered in Children's Centre in November 2014 to January 2015. In January I also became a full time housekeeping to the same family, until July 2015, as the family emigrated abroad. I am now caring for a family member up to the present day. Daily chores include, cooking, cleaning and organising the whole household and taking care of their personal care and medical appointments. I see myself as a committed person, and have a record to stay within a job until the end. I am very passionate in the kind of work I do, and try my best to please others. I am a versatile kind of person and likes to try my hand at anything.
An honest, hard working person, and can use my own initiate to make myself a better person for the job. I don't mind a new challenge every now and then, as having worked with children, I have been offered a variety of different roles by my managers, as they have known I have been able to get on with things, and not having to seek their guidance at all times. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with children, parents and work colleagues, and have missed not being in employment, since leaving, therefore would like the opportunity to offer my services once again. As nearly all my three children are in full time education I’m looking forward to returning to work, meaning I will have more time to juggle with my new work and home arrangements. As a previous employer, I had developed lots of new skills to care for young children, for example, communicating, planning and organising, and was able to use my skills at home with my family. I have always been motivated, and was able to work well as part of a team. I have a caring personality with some excellent work experience gained from my past experiences. I’m now looking for a similar position within the Bradford Council and would like to achieve and gain different skills further.
