Greetings! I am currently an 18-year-old who has chosen to take a gap year before embarking on my studies in Psychology at the prestigious Nottingham University. The decision to take a gap year has provided me with an incredible opportunity to divide my time between two occupations: tutoring and working as a caregiver, both based in Manchester.
As a tutor, I have been able to use my knowledge to help others in their academic pursuits, all the while fostering my communication skills and learning how to adapt to the learning styles of different individuals. This work has not only honed my instructional skills, but also bolstered my organisational capabilities.
Simultaneously, I also devote a significant portion of my time to providing care for both the elderly and those who live with special needs. This work as a caregiver is more than just a job. It is a deeply fulfilling role that allows me to establish strong connections with my patients. This role gives me hands-on experience and an invaluable insight into the struggles these individuals face daily. It is powerful and rewarding work that nurtures my passion for truly making a meaningful difference in the lives of those I care for. The amalgamation of these experiences enriches my perspective, equipping me with the practical knowledge I look forward to utilising in my upcoming Psychology studies.
I have experience teaching high school maths specifically to Year 7s and Year 8s. I am currently on a gap year before starting uni next year and missing studying (I know - I can’t even believe it myself ! 🤣) I have always been very fortunate to understand maths easily since being young, and therefore have always found pleasure in it, with it being my favourite subject since I can remember. I really just want to spend this time before I go to uni helping others to understand the things they struggle with in maths, and since I have recently graduated college, I understand how challenging it can be as I haven’t long since left high school myself.
