I am Marcus, a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef with experience in high end restaurants and recipe development for one of the countries leading food box companies in my 10 year career. I would say my speciality is Modern European food dishes that are familiar but with a fun or exotic twist to them. Nevertheless, I have always tried every cuisine tasked to me and have a good amount of experience in my career catering for many of them. Cuisines I have cooked before include: British, European (all areas, but especially Mediterranean, Spanish, Italian, French, Greek, German, Scandinavian), Japanese, Korean, South American, Chinese, American. On top of this, if there is a cuisine you would prefer or like to try I am always more then willing to learn and develop recipes - there's nothing better for a chef then to build out your cuisine knowledge.
Since last year I have ran a supper club in my spare time serving up a 4-course menu to 30+ guests each time and since the end of last year I have become a private chef, catering for private dinner parties, hen dos and events, to gain experience. On the side of these events, which are usually booked on weekends, I am looking for a permanent full-time/part-time private chef position during the week where I can support a family house hold in meal prep or meal service.
During my time as a recipe developer at Gousto, I have extensive expertise in creating comfort food favourable with all generations of the family, having worked on their Everyday Favourites and Family Kitchen ranges. I also have a deep knowledge of catering for all dietary and allergen requirements and am fully proficient in vegetarian, vegan and healthy, well-balanced cookery.
