I live with my partner, three children and 2 dogs! I did my level 3 early years educator apprenticeship upon leaving school and worked in multiple nurseries and room leading. I then had my three children, one of whom is autistic and I home educated for 8 months when he couldn’t cope in school. I then worked as a learning support assistant in a primary school please see below my experience! Moved to teaching and being in charge of a class of 6 children with complex special needs in Ks2. I redid the classroom by adding sensory toys and a calm corner, creating a nurturing and caring environment for them to learn in. Completing training on inset days such as behaviour management. Learning the children’s behaviours and what works well to help them emotionally regulate. Carrying out interventions and tailoring the lessons given to me by the teachers to each individuals need, using their EHCP’s as a guide. Working with the speech and language therapist's fortnightly. Fortnightly meetings with the Senco to discuss what’s going well and what we can do to improve the children’s education. 1:1 Learning Support Assistant Supporting a child with SEN. I would plan our day, complete observations, liaise with the manager when discussing their IEP and application for an EHCP. I also spoke to any medical professionals that came into observe such as speech and language therapists. Teaching the child to communicate with PEC’S. Play therapy. Communicate with parents. Early Years Practitioner Working as a practitioner through babies to age 4. Experience room leading 2-3 year old rooms, planning, having key children and tracking their development.
