I'm Benjamin, and I'm based in Wickford. With 9 years of tutoring experience, I'm well-versed in various teaching methods and approaches. I'm available for private tutoring sessions in the evenings, Monday to Friday, and throughout the day on Sundays.
My previous education began with A Levels, where I completed qualifications in Psychology, Criminology, and English Literature. I have also received my Level 3 in SEND Co-ordination. Furthermore, I have undergone training to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, which requires me to teach whole-class lessons on planning, which I have completed.
I currently study Forensic Psychology at university and aspire to become an Educational Psychologist.
During my planning stages, I tailor each session to the children I am educating. Through doing this, I have developed ways to ensure individuals remain focused and engaged, and sometimes do not even realise they are learning.
I spend a lot of time around dogs, cats, reptiles, and rodents, which gives me confidence in working anywhere.
Finally, I have worked with children from all walks of life, including those who have a minimal understanding of English, and those from a Gypsy/Roma background. This has allowed me to understand how to interact with different children and ensure they are safe and happy in their environments.
I have worked in many child care facilities, including nurseries, schools and alternative provisions.
During my time in nursery environments, I achieved my Level 3 SENCo qualification and exceeded the expectations set by the local authority. I spent much of my time assisting children with SEND and helping them reach their milestones. During this time, I adapted learning to align with EHCP needs and ensured the children were ready for their next stages.
During my time working in schools, I learned a lot from observing teachers and other specialists. I spent a lot of time working with small groups of children or on a one-to-one basis. There were many achievements on display and many happy parents and carers.
During my time working in alternative provision, I supported the education of children with SEND and SEMH needs. I enjoyed this, and it helped me move to the next stage of my career. During this time, I had the opportunity to take the lead in learning and create activities and lessons which kept the children engaged.
My current workplace is within a school, where I run an intervention room that serves as an alternative provision within the mainstream school. I have been lucky enough to take on this position and work with many children and specialists to ensure students reach their EHCP outcomes by their reviews.
